Soft, enveloping light creates an almost ethereal atmosphere, while carefully directed accents bring out the three dimensional qualities of the furniture. The design balances these two components, highlighting forms, materials and finishes.
The B&B Italia stand at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026 is defined by a strong balance between vertical and horizontal surfaces, essential geometries and a refined harmony of colours, with light bringing these elements together.
At the heart of the installation is a large luminous ceiling, whose regular structural grid allows for an exceptionally uniform distribution of light, giving the space an almost ethereal quality.
The lighting design balances this atmosphere with the need to enhance the furniture on display. It brings together two complementary lighting components: soft, enveloping diffuse light at 2700 K, integrated into the ceiling, and accent lighting at 3000 K. Spotlights with controlled light output are integrated at the intersections of the structural grid and positioned to highlight forms and finishes without causing glare for visitors.
Both components offer high colour rendering and blend naturally across the furniture, creating a welcoming environment in which the pieces on display can be clearly appreciated. Light guides the experience of the space, enhancing the furniture while maintaining a coherent relationship with the surrounding architecture.
